What would Cleopatra do?

You might not recognize these guys....
Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween. It was definitely a Success with the Brandito bunch this year. We had a busy night of visiting family & friends as well as some good ol'fashion trick or treating.

Annabelle as Cleopatra

Gavin as Waluigi...the moustache was short lived...

Heaven as a "Southern Belle" who found a witch broom
The kids had a blast getting all dressed up!! Well minus the moustache that came with Gavin's costume. He hated that pretty much instantly and I don't think it made it past a visit to Aunt Jessica's.  Heaven LOVED her witch broom (though I assured her that no Southern Belle actually ever found a witch broom) and AB fluttered her cape around most of the evening. We also had a surprise guest of Thor with us for a part of the evening.

I call this photo, "The Death of the Stache'"

After their candy capturing frenzy had ended, the kids realized they were on the verge of starvation. So we finished the evening with a later that usual dinner at What-A-Burger (Heaven's FAVORITE...for now).

The kids brought home SO much candy. I mean SO much!! Being good parents, of COURSE we will have to carefully go thru it to be sure no one stuck in anything suspicious. I saw several candy bars that just didn't look right.....
The kids declared Halloween "the best night ever" and who can blame them. They got to wear make up, freely eat candy from strangers (before dinner!) & were allowed to stay up WAY past their bed time. I guess one night of supervised rule breaking won't ruin them.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
