Learn'n Tally Style

We began our last day in Tally town well rested & with a Lady Brandt choice lunch of McDonalds. When we'd had our caloric intake for 5 days, we headed off to the  Tallahassee Museum . I hadn't been in years and was worried it would be a let down. I was definitely wrong. We arrived right as they were opening for the day, and were kicked out a closing. Such a cool place & HUGE! One of the first things we did, was walk thru an old farm town they have set up. During the week, they have workers who act out different roles on the farm. On Sunday morning however, it's just you and the farm animals. Not to be deterred, I forced suggested the Lady Brandts take turns reading about the different exhibits which they complained relentlessly about , l oathed doing, agreed was a great way to learn about this interesting historical period. Next we headed to one of the many classrooms on the museum grounds.  The classrooms had various animals, mostly reptile...

Florida State Highlights

After working up an appetite at the circus (aka:leaving so late we were forced to go straight there and skip lunch) we headed to Momo's Pizza for a late lunch. Momo's claim to fame is "Pizza Slices As Big As Your Head". It's also crazy cheap, and thus a favorite for college students. We told the girls if they finished their pizza, we'd get them dessert. They were not victorious.... When we'd finished up, we headed back to the FSU campus to some a few of the "must sees". Namely DOAK & Wescott....the two most famous places at Florida State. Future Seminoles Seminole Sisters The Wescott Building & infamous Wescott Fountain It's an FSU tradition to take a swim (usually an against your will swim) in the Wescott fountain on your 21st birthday.  Annabelle wanted to take a dip, but I told her she's still got 13 years before she'll be ready. She settled for rolling up her jeans and taking a st...

The Greatest Show In Tallahassee

This photo required bribery and threats John has been promising to take Gavin to see a Gators game ever since his disgusting love for the Gators began last fall. The thing about Gav is, he doesn't really handle loss so well. John decided to take him to the Blue vs Orange game held each year before the season starts. Basically it's a glorified practice but since it's the Gators vs the Gators, the Gators are guaranteed to win.  So this past weekend JB & Gav loaded up & headed to the swamp, or as I call it enemy territory. Since the  FSU High Flying Circus  home show was going on & I'd been wanting to show the girls around FSU's campus as well...loading up the Lady Brandts and heading East to Tally seemed like the only thing to do. We had planned to wake up early Saturday morning and head out. We all packed the night before, got in bed early & even work up early. Seemed like we were smooth sailing to be on the road at 8, easy. Of course this me...
