Life as a Brandtito

For a few months at least. Anymore school and the kids were going to LOSE. THERE. MINDS... And to be honest... So was I.. It's been an incredibly busy last few weeks and we're very appreciative for the temporary break from school. One more week and I probably would have started sending the PRE teachers gifts as a trade for no more homework. Thankfully, summer break arrived just in time. So another PRE year is complete....onward and upward we go. First Day of School Last Day of School Adios 4th grade... Peace out 3rd Grade Cheerio 2nd Grade!!  Bring it on Summer. Bring. It. On.

HB on stage receiving her award  I can't believe another school year is already winding down.  Today was the 3rd grade award ceremony  at PRE. Heaven received an award for A/B Honor Roll thru out the year. She was very proud...and so were we!  Best Friends! 

Look who made Chief of the Week...for the second time this year!!

This Friday we went to PRE's Family Movie Night showing of "The Odd Life of Timothy Green". By far, the cutest fundraiser the school has done so far. And of course it was much cheaper than we could actually all go to the movies for. They even had a dinner movie option, but the mini's opted for Cici's instead. The kids had such a good time hanging out with friends (and of course their COOL parents!!) Gavin even sat by a GIRL for a little bit (I was forbidden a photo). I hope PRE does more in the future! 

Heaven had her Christmas party today at PRE. She invited me to join her and her class (with her teacher's approval of course) so I popped by for a bit. They were having a blast. A loud, crazy, sugar fueled blast! Santa is flying in today as well. He got held up by a rainy morning, but last I heard he was still coming !! Santa doesn't have to be on time...my kinda man. Heaven running for her team in the candy relay...Girls won! Twizzler Straw Class shot...clearly I have not mastered the panorama feature Candy Cane Claw Relay...Girls won again! Heaven and one of her many BFF Haley. This makes for one very crazy combo to be sure!

Tonight we loaded up and headed to PRE to watch the 5th grade chorus perform their annual Christmas show. The mini Brandt's had several friends among the group, most notably their cousin Gabe.  Though of course we are partial, he did a standout job! Gavin's supposed girlfriend was also among the singers. The girls of course, mentioned this endlessly. Gabe is in the bottom row, on the right  One of the many great songs they performed!    Closing the show  When we finished, the kids claimed to be famished so we decided to hit up Ryan' for dinner. Apparently due to the success of Golden Corral's new feature of cotton candy, Ryan's decided to up their game and start serving it now. The kids couldn't be happier...and I have made a mental note to avoid Ryan's when I would prefer to get to bed at a reasonable hour...  Seriously???

Please note the "Bieber Fever" shirt Heaven is sporting   In an effort to show Heaven's friends what a cool step mom she has I crashed her lunch yesterday at school. She was so cute and excited. We got to eat on stage (which is strange to me because the stage is where the bad kids sat when I was in school) and she had a few friends eating with their parents as well. It was a day brightener for me to say the least.  

  This is what happens when you're supervising a project and lose focus. AB had to do an Indian project for school. The tribe she chose was the Algonquins.  Part of her project was to make a Wigwam house which (as we waited until the night before it was do to begin) is what I was working on while she was filling out her information packet. I'd given her my Ipad, and she was researching answers and running them by me before she wrote them down. As you can see, the question was where the Algonquins live & the answer was Michigan, New York & Canada. I had Annabelle look up a map of the US, and then locate both New York & Michigan and color them in separately. She of course, could not find Canada on the map & I explained it was because Canada is not part of the US, and it located above the US. I absent mindedly (with glue covered hands) pointed to the section above the US and said, "Canada is right up here".   Mistake. Hopefully her teacher will g...

Introducing the Cutest Country Folk to enter the doors of Pea Ridge Elementary Needless  to say, Gavin could hardly contain his excitement.   Happy Halloween!! The kiddo's can't wait to get in their costumes tonight!!

I'm not sure what's going on with Annabelle's face...maybe she's scared of her A's? Report cards came home today and the Brandtios have done it again!! :) Annabelle brought home straight A's, Gavin all A's and 1 B (and the only E in conduct in the group) and Heaven all A's and 2 B's !! That's pretty darn impressive even if I am partial :) We will be doing some celebrating this weekend for sure!!

Guess who was nominated as chief of the week this week??? I'll give you a hint....it's these 2 Branditos!!! We celebrated their Chiefly skills with a little Cici's dinner tonight.  

  It's wacky hat day at PRE today. Only Annabelle felt inclined to participate as it costs 2 feathers. Heaven said it was a "total waste of feathers" and Gavin said nothing as his only hat is a Seminole hat and he's gone rogue lately claiming suppot for Gators. My dear Annabelle made up for both of their lack of sense & style.  She is both Fancy in my large sunhat and Fabulous in her FSU Friday decor.   Doesn't get much better. Happy Friday!

It's HERE!!! THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS HERE!! I'd like to introduce, the cutest kids walking thru the doors of Pea Ridge Elementary today!! *Warning* if you are sensitive to awesomeness, you'd might want to stop viewing now. I'd also like to note that Gavin's hair is actually NOT as long as it appears & is not ACTUALLY in Beiber style somewhat blocking his vision...okay, that's not true it is...but we're getting him a haircut ASAP! We started out the morning with breakfast at Chick-Fil-A...You know, for brain power....and chicken mini's. The girls chose their own back to school outfits, while Gavin chose to leave the decision up to me. Probably because he think's I'm so cool....yes, I'm sure that's it. As you all know, we're very proud of being "cool parents" so we walked all the kids to their classrooms. Though they all insisted, this was not necessary...we thanked them for their thoughtfulness,...
