Destin Dynasty

We planned to spend some time at Munson Lake this weekend cooking out and swimming, but apparently our secret plans got leaked and several hundred people wanted to join us. Can you believe on a holiday weekend with beautiful clear skies that other people could also want to enjoy the outdoors? Me neither, it was clearly some sort of a conspiracy.

So after several hours of enjoying each other's company at home (which of course translates into after we tired of threatening the children, hearing them complain of boredom, endless requests to go to ludicrous places like Chuckie Cheese...) we decided to take a trip to Destin for the evening.

We spent a little time shopping at the commons. The kids especially enjoyed Bass Pro. They have a full Duck Dynasty line which the girls love. They are Duck Dynasty experts and have seen each episode at least 5 times.

When we'd shopped all we could, we headed to dinner at one of our Destin fave's, The Back Porch.

AB loves her crab claws!!

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
