Happy 4th of July everyone!! It was a rainy 4th for us Floridians. But with the rain comes cooler temperatures, and I'll take a little wet over sweat any day. We started the 4th off by sleeping in (which of course still means we were up by 9...) and then cooked out with the Brandt/Simmons clan for lunch. We'd planned to go to the Riverwalk area too take part in the crafts and whatnot but once the girls heard Ava was already at Nana's house...they could not be persuaded to do anything that did not include being with her.

It was overcast and cloudy all day, but we did manage to escape most of the rain. Until the fireworks that is. I'm talking literally until the fireworks started.

So...we watched the fireworks in the rain. The kids actually thought it was pretty cool (well the girls did anyway) and proceeded to do rain dances with their glow accessories in the lights of the fireworks.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton. As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
