A Halloween Christmas...

Christmas is so close & we can hardly wait! We’ve had a busy weekend full of Christmas Fun!! Saturday we spent the day decorating Christmas houses and baking treats. Now…you may notice these aren’t your “typical” Christmas Gingerbread houses. These are actually Chocolate Cookie houses…and they may or may not be ment for Halloween décor. Once you throw out the ghost & bats and add in some colored icing and candy…who can really tell the difference? I’ll tell you who can’t…the Brandt kids ;) The kids seemed quite content to decorate & quality test the candy decorations. Gav didn’t want to decorate at first, but the girls were having a blast and tempted him to join in! He did steer clear of all baking activities though. Luckily Auntie Mikey came over to lend a hand. Let me just say…making rice krispie treats into shapes is WAY harder than it looks. I’ve scratched it from the list of activities I’ll do again…the cookies however, were definitely a hit!

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
