The Scouts Are Out

The Brandt family gained 2 cookie selling Girl Scouts this week! We've been on the waiting list for a troop FOREVER but we finally got placed this week. Since both girls need to be in the same troop (for sanity and logistic purposes) we had a hard time finding a "split" troop (Annabelle is a "Daisy" and Heaven is a "Brownie"). This week we joined troop 418 and the girls had their first meeting. They absolutely loved it. There are 9 girls in their troop total and they all seemed eager to welcome the newbies. (One of the girls told Heaven she was "so pretty" which granted her instant acceptance and top spot into Heaven's friendship circle). Much to their disappointment and embarrassment I crashed their first meeting on Tuesday. I told them I promise not to stay at every meeting but I wasn't going to just leave them with a stranger either. They seemed to accept this with reluctance. The meeting went well and as we are right in the beginning of Cookie Season the girls are very excited to sell some cookies. Annabelle especially has been knocking on the door or stopping anyone who looks like they might be interested (which translates into most people she sees).

So If you want cookies...let us know :)

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
