Trolls, Bears, & Ghosts

We took a quick camping trip to Adventures Unlimited this weekend due to the beautiful weather we'd been having. I've been promising to let Ava join us on a trip and this seemed like a good weekend to try it out. She's a good bit younger than the girls and often gets home sick when she's away. Needless to say I was a little nervous as to how she would react in the woods at night...especially since John mentioned all her most feared creatures within 2 hrs of being their...Trolls, Bears & Ghosts. All things that probably have never come up in a conversation between them ever...

Smores. I forgot the graham crackers...which was A-Okay by all the minis.

Swimming in the creek. Notice Gavin adventuring in the background. I was WAY to cold to get that far in!

She made it just the same & we even had a camp break in by raccoons to liven up the night! The kids enjoyed swimming in the frigid waters & as usual the smores were a highlight as well.

We finished the weekend up with a quick dip at Nana & Papa's.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
