Miss Manners

We've been working really hard on our manners at home. Don't get me wrong. My kids are pretty much perfect. But, there is always room for improvement when it comes to manners.

I have told the girls (as Gavin has beyond no interest),  that once they have reached the age of 8, they may go on dates with me and my BFF Michelle (whom the girls adore) ONCE their table manners have been perfected. Heaven has been working *really* hard and making some real improvements so this Sunday she got her first date out with the ladies.

She chose hibachi so we picked up Michelle & Erika (Bonus!) and headed to Sake Cafe after church. Heaven had to order her own food from the server, as well as make her request for additional needed items. We're also working on her SLOWING DOWN her eating as she tends to eat like a Hoover Vac on most nights. She did GREAT. She loved the Hibachi Show & eagerly chatted our ears off with tales from her Orlando trip & excitements of the new school year.

Michelle got to be the final "judge" of her behavior, and Heaven was very relieved to hear she will be invited back, though Michelle did give her a few tips! She is already planning our next excursion.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
