Slumberless.

I honestly have no idea what's going on in this photo
SLUMBER Party is really a poor title for a girls sleepover. No one Slumbers...everyone just stays up all night being crazy & creating havoc....also known as fun.

Heaven had a 2 part birthday this year. Friday night she had a few close friends spend the night. She'd wanted a camping party, but I didn't think most parents would be okay with their kids actually camping in the back yard (an no way was I camping in my own yard...much less sleeping, or attempting to sleep in a tent with 6 girls) so John being the super awesome Dad that he is built a tent in our front living room for the girls to sleep in. It was definitely a hit. We made pizza, decorated cupcakes, made smores, played with glow chalk, had dance competitions & even watched a little Justin Bieber.

The next morning keeping with the "Camping" theme me and the girls loaded up for a hike at Arcadia Mills Park in Milton. We weren't lucky (or quiet) enough to see any wildlife, but the girls were very impressed with the rather swingy bridge that crossed the creek.

Hikers. Ava insisted on wearing the Southern Belle  costume. It was too early for a fight

Since the Slumber party was pretty limited number wise Heaven had a cookout/swimming party on Saturday so the rest of her friends could celebrate too. We had a REALLY good turn out & thankfully narrowly avoided the forecasted rain showers. We had to finish up the last game of the day indoors, but  for the most part everything ran as planned....that is, as planned as a children's party can be.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
