A Freaking Trumpet??!!??

We hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. We had a wonderful, lazy weekend filled with family, friends, some rainy day movie marathons and even a bit of shopping. It was just the low key weekend I was looking for.

It was not quiet however.

So this happened

Saturday, the mini Lady Brandts & Ava worked for Nana at Flordiatown Station. The store is closing, and they are holding yard sale's on Saturdays to clear out the remaining items. Nana paid the girls each $10 for helping and they were also allowed to pick one item from the store to bring home with them. Ava picked a doll, Annabelle picked a tea set, and Heaven picked a trumpet. A FREAKING TRUMPET!

Not only did she pick a trumpet...but this is a USED trumpet...so basically she spent a large portion of the weekend making loud trumpetish sounds from a slightly bent...not fully functioning...key sticking trumpet that a strangers mouth and spit have been on. Thanks Nana. Thanks a lot.

Gavin thoroughly enjoyed the college football season kicking back off this weekend. He got to watch his Gators claim their first victory on Saturday, but he watched pretty much any game that he could catch on TV as well. He even watched the Nole game with us on Monday evening...though he claimed he wanted both teams to loose.

Gavin was not fan of our new porch decor. He was also not a fan of the AP poll that came out this week putting FSU ahead of UF!!

We decided that since Gavin has a room  here...he can continue to use the front door...at least on non game days.

This is the girls doing the Seminole "chop" clearly we've got some work to do.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

The Who's Who of Whoville

The girls had their church Christmas Program this weekend. They performed at both morning services and were equally amazing each time around! They've been practicing for the mast few months, and all their hard work most definitely paid off.
