ELEVEN

Someone awesome turned 11 today!!! GAVIN!!!! :)

Unlike the females in this family Gavin doesn't like TOO much fuss over his birthday. Just the same, he did have a few requests including dinner at Chili's for tonight and a weekend with the boys kicking off tomorrow. He'll be having 3 or 4 boys (Lord save me) spend the night Friday night,  followed by a day at Sam's Splash City (If we don't get rained out) and a family cook out Saturday night. I promised not to get too carried away, but I couldn't resist a few little things for Saturday. Hopefully he survives the excitement!  Here are a few shots from dinner....

They love their big Bro!

So cute!

Amazing Aunt Jessica got Gavin some petifores which he has discovered he LOVES so finished off the night with those (he didn't like the dessert at the restaurant). He also got to open his present from Nana & Papa tonight since they won't be there on Saturday. He has to wait to open ours until then however as some other people got him gifts that go along with them.

Score!

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
