Pet Scouting.

Tonight the girls Girl Scout took went on  field trip to Petland...aka Heaven on Earth. Any time I am having a bad day, or feeling REALLY stressed out, I head over to Petland to calm my nerves. They pretty much force puppies upon you when you walk in the door. There are little gated off areas that you can take these precious fur-balls into and just play with them until your heart is content (or until they remind you 10 times they're closing soon). It is impossible to leave Petland in a bad mood. Needless to say I LOVE Petland, and had to tag along. Ever the "cool" parent, I hung back and let the girls do their thing (more puppy time for me). The girls got to hold, puppies, kittens, bunnies and even pet a snake. They are working on their "pet" badges currently and listened to animal facts from the Petland staff. Did you know Rabbit's do not sweat? They do not have sweat glands & use their ears to regulate their body temperature. AB informed me of this fact on the way home tonight. AB had a game tonight  so she had to miss the first part of the meeting. To make up for it, we stayed a little late holding puppies on our own.

AB checking out the fish.
Disregard the HUGE wad of gum in Annabelle's mouth. This is what happens when Dad drives her home from soccer practice...
Heaven & her captive
This shiba inu was SO hyper. He did not enjoy being held still. Too bad we did it anyway....

In Soccer news, the Heat suffered their first loss of the season tonight losing 0-1. Annabelle however had 2 really close goal shots, one hit the goal post!! We're hoping for a first goal at Thursdays game!!

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
