Me & Shell

We drove over Saturday afternoon which took us a little longer than expected due to the Billy Bowlegs fest in Ft. Walton (which I was totally bummed to miss out on). I was one "How much longer?" from abandoning a child or 3 to walk the remainder of the trip when we arrived. Luckily a lounge chair and book was all I needed to calm my nerves. Melissa, Bryan, Erika & Collin arrived shortly after we did to spend the day with us. The kids had so much fun swimming in the pool & playing on the beach. Within minutes of arriving the girls of course had made a slew of new friends so they were surrounded by a pack of other kids their age for the remainder of the weekend. Good times. Once Michelle arrived we cleaned up, and headed to The Back Porch for dinner. The kids fell asleep at the table...overall, it was a pretty perfect day
The kiddo's checking out the shore at night

Heaven's starting fish stories early...this is how big she "says" the fish she caught with Nana & Papa is. I'm hearing reports of much closer to the 1 ft range...and that was "tops".

I have some SERIOUSLY amazing friends

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
