Weekend Update.

Brandt weekend update...in photos

As our milk so rudely reminded me that Christmas is right around the corner. We (okay well I) knocked out a little Christmas shopping this weekend. I felt really good about it...until I put it in my spreadsheet (yes I really keep a spreadsheet) and realized I have SO. MUCH. LEFT. TO. DO.

We also started our annual Thankful project back up. Each night we take turns writing something we are thankful for on a leave that goes up in our kitchen. No one is allowed to repeat a "thankful" & by the end of the month it is interesting to see all the things we have to be thankful for. The kids have different levels of depth in their answers thus far....from Farmers, to fellow Gator fans...

I also did a little crafting this weekend. I need to start my Christmas crafts, but I'm going to procrastinate a little longer so that I feel good and stressed out about it. I work so much more efficiently under pressure.

New decor for the girls room

Photo craft for the hall.

Our sad little garden is almost totally dead and dried up. We do have a few carrots waiting to be harvested. I don't know a lot about carrot growing...so basically we just pull one up from time to time. Here's our latest victim.

As per the usual our weekend also involved quite a lot of football. And as per the recent usual, the Gators did not show up to Gavin's complete and utter disappointment. It has not been a good season for ol' Gavin or the Gators. Dad & Gavin watched the LSU vs Bama game on Saturday night, but the lady Brandts decided it was more of a movie night. We went to see "Free Bird", in our Pajamas. Luckily we didn't run in to anyone we knew. The movie was totally ridiculous..but the girls didn't seem to notice.

They're the cutest. They can't help it.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
