Christmas Tree….Oh Christmas Tree

We decided to up our game on Christmas Trees this year with not only having a REAL tree…but foraging thru the woods to find the PERFECT tree, and then chopping it down with our BARE hands…and by that I mean going to a tree farm and forcing John to cut it down with a saw while everyone else watches.

Everyone but John agreed this was a solid plan…

So off we went in search of the perfect tree…on the coldest, windiest, most frigid day possible. We searched high and low, and voted down numerous less superior trees until just the right one was located.  Once we'd found it, we all stood around and cheered John on until it was cut down and loaded securely on the truck. Then we got the heck out of there in our warm truck and soaked up every bit of heat we could.  Our perfect tree is now patiently waiting to be decorated & the mini Brandt's are not so patiently waiting to get this whole Christmas show on the road.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
