Weekend Update

A week in review...photo addition

This week went to the dogs. Puffin Bear spent the week with us...much to the children's pleasure. Gavin loves Pup because "She's calm" and the girls love snuggling with her at night.  We put her in her dog prison (crate) after the girls were asleep each night however, because Pup likes peeing on beds. I have a feeling, this would ruin the whole girls love snuggling her at night thing.

The cold temps brought another furry face inside the Brandito Lair this week as well ...

Unfortunately he has a similar love for peeing inside...so Bandit must stay in his prison at all times while indoors.

The children were introduced to Spaghetti Squash this week, which I must admit went much better than I'd imagined. They won't be begging for it anytime soon or anything soon, but no one feigned vomiting so I think that's a success. We thought it would be fun to roast our own seeds from the squash however and that was not quite as successful.

The hubs and I visited FSU this weekend to watch them pound Idaho 14-80. Needless to say we left at halftime (as we were up by 40 points) and had dinner and a movie with my Sis Caleigh before heading back home.

I also decided it would be fun to learn to make band aids...so I went ahead and fell on our way into the game so that I could try my hand at it.I'll be wearing tights for a while it looks like.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
