Eggstreme Eggdrop

It's really unfair to all the other kids to be this cute.

Last Saturday me and Heaven got our Pre Easter on at Immanuel Baptist's Eggstreme Eggdrop. It was much more organized this year, but when you're dealing with hundreds of kids, thousands of eggs and a few crazy excited parents like myself...there is only so much organizing you can do. In short, it was a total and complete madhouse...like last year but with straighter lines.

The highlight of the event, as expected is the egg hunt. I really don't know why they call it an egg hunt however because it takes place in a field with literally thousands of unhidden eggs. They're just laying out in the open for the snatching...and snatched they were! But not before a helicopter does a fly over dropping the final eggs into the field.

Once the "go" is given, complete and utter madness follows. MADNESS I tell you.

Heaven racked up quite a stash in her egg snatching sprint. She did share with the smaller kiddos who hadn't gotten quite as many.  After the egg craziness had calmed down, we met up with some friends and spent the rest of the time playing games and waiting in crazy long lines for various germ filled bounce houses and slides. Not really my idea of fun, but the kids seem to enjoy it. The pound of candy they each brought home probably didn't hurt either.

Art in the Park

It has been a wonderfully rainy Saturday. We spent the majority of the day today holed up indoors in cozy clothes watching movies and trash TV. As a whole, it was blissful. Sure the kids were BORED ( I know, because they told me about 65 Bazillion times) but nothing beats a rainy afternoon movie marathon & an excuse to wear gym clothes all day long. Well...not much does anyway. Before the downpour started we ventured out to Art in the Park. Heaven was *so excited*. She loves art and was thrilled to have a chance to see "real" artwork and talk with some "real" artists ( I was a little offended she does not consider me a part of this "real" artist list...I mean, she's seen what I can do with some glitter glue). Mr. Eric Cobb was at the top of her list. He's been a Bestie of mine for years and is amazingly talented. If you're in the market for some palette knife artwork, you should check out his fabulousness  for yourself. Totally not the ...

Treaters

Here are the Branditos all ready to hit the streets trick or treating. We had a great time  & much to the kids pleasure came home with loads of candy. Of course their intake will be limited...but they haven't considered that just yet  (John already went through and claimed most of the kitkats) Gavin had trouble deciding exactly what he wanted to be this year. His top two picks, were Link from Zelda & a skeleton.  As you can see, in the end he decided on a skeleton. His costume was pretty cool & the bones were textured so you could feel them. The mask was short lived... thankfully... because honestly, it was a little scary... oh, and because it almost caused several accidents due to the limited visibility it provided. Heaven dressed as Abbey Bominable from Monster High. She's really into Monster High right now as I'm told it's very "cool" unfortunately her "cool" parents find most of the dolls a bit inappropriate, so really A...
