With our car decked out in Taylor Swift love the Lady Brandt's headed to the ATL last Thursday afternoon. We arrived around midnight and got settled in. The girls were SO excited, that it was at least 2 am before they went to sleep. I know this because at 1:45am I made threats. Much to their disappointment, the mini Brandt's were forced to sleep in (or lie silently in the dark, their choice) on Friday morning in preparation for the long day. Heaven still managed to be up by 9, but AB being the angel that she is didn't budge till almost 10:30!

The girls spent the morning lounging around watching "The Price is Right" which they love & snacking. Around noon we headed to the mall to find the perfect concert outfit & accessories. It was cold an rainy, so the girls decided on some sparkle shirts with jeans. They were each allowed to pick 2 accessories as well; Annabelle decided on a sparkle bracelet & hat. Heaven, already having a hat of her own decided on some blue "hipster glasses" and some fishnet fingerless gloves. I immediately regretted not putting stipulations on their choices.

Of course we needed a treat. |
Thanks to an amazing suggestion by a lovely salesperson at the mall, we decided to take the Marta transit to the show as the concert took place at Phillips Arena, which is in downtown Atlanta. Downtown Atlanta + Friday 5 o'clock traffic + a backseat of excited little monsters sounded like about 2 hrs of misery to me. Plus it was like $20 for parking. So Marta it was. I had some preconceived prejudices about taking the Marta, but they turned out to be completely unfounded and it saved us literal hours. So we donned our new duds and some red lips and off we went!!

Of course we needed RED lips, it was the RED tour after all! |
 |
Thankfully Heaven's glasses didn't make it to the concert. Unfortunately, the gloves did... |
Once we got to the arena, we found our seats...and...the girls lasted about 8 minutes before I decided we needed to walk around so the girls lived to see the show. Taylor Swift had two openers, a guy I'd never heard of and Ed Sheeran, who I actually really like. The girls were not interested in either, so we decided it was the perfect time to snag the required Taylor Swift tour shirt and a quick snack. Sadly these two errands took over an hour and we made it back to our seats just in time to get situated before the show started.

Yes, these definitely came in handy |

This pretty much sums up our excitement level before the show |
I was *SO* impressed by the concert! Taylor Swift is an amazing performer and certainly knows her crowd. She had at least 15 costume changes (and several large flowy gowns that the girls were envious of), she did an acoustic set where she took audience requests (which I'm sure was probably staged, but she did a great job making it FEEL like it wasn't), and much to the girls enjoyment "flew" over the crowd on 2 separate occasions. She also did a big speal about how she was picked on in school for being awkward & how she dealt with it that I thought really hit home for the middle school heavy crowd.
Here are some photos from the show, I took some of my own, but obviously the majority of these aren't mine.. (see binocular photo above for explanation.)

This one actually is mine. |

This one too |
The girls really enjoyed the show. I mean REALLY enjoyed the show. I don't think they sat down for more than 10 minutes once the show started and they sang EVERY song.
With the girls first concert under their belt we headed back to the Marta station. The route changes at night, which thankfully our friendly neighbor pointed out, so our ride back to our car took a little bit. This left plenty of time for more photos & reminiscing of their favorite moments of the show. Once we finally reached our car, we headed to the only place that was still open for dinner....Waffle House.
